SEKILAS TENTANG GENSO SUIKODEN

  • GENSO SUIKODEN I
  • GENSO SUIKODEN II
  • GENSO SUIKODEN III
  • GENSO SUIKODEN IV

  • GENSO SUIKODEN CARD MOBILE PHONE (DOWNLOADABLE APPLICATION)
  • GENSO SUIKODEN PACHISLOT (A PACHINKO GAME MACHINE WITH THEME FROM GENSO SUIKODEN IV)

SEKILAS TENTANG YOSHITAKA MURAYAMA

Karya dia lainnya setelah berhenti membuat kelanjutan Suikoden adalah Tsukiyo ni Saraba, sebuah game action buatan perusahaannya sendiri, yaitu Blue Moon Studio.

  Blog pribadi Yoshitaka Murayama:

Summary:
Quote:
Set three years after the events of Suikoden, Suikoden II takes the player north of the Scarlet Moon Empire in the neighbouring nation of Jowston, which has just signed a ceasefire with the Highland Kingdom. The protagonist of the game is Riou, a youth officer in the Unicorn Brigade. The night before he is set to return with his friend, Jowy Atreides, to their hometown, the camp is attacked by Highland Prince, Luca Blight, who aims to use the massacre of the brigade to fuel another war with Jowston. The two young men manage to escape and eventually find their way into the service of Viktor and Flik, two mercenaries working for Jowston (as well as being popular Suikoden originals).

At first agreeing to help Jowston in their war with Highland, Riou and Jowy are divided during an espionage mission and there the biggest plot thread begins. As Riou fights on the side of Jowston and Jowy works to bring down Highland from within, both reach the same conclusion: only one nation can survive the war in order for there to be lasting peace. With many people in Highland now relying on Jowy, he makes his move, with help, and becomes King of Highland. Now the stage is set for a war where both sides fight for the exact same goal, a war with intense moral consequences for both sides.

Suikoden III

Release:
  • PlayStation 2: July 11, 2002, Japan; October 24, 2002, North America

Main Staff:
Director Yoshitaka Murayama (Replace by Noritada Matsukawa after he left)

Summary:
Quote:
Set a whopping fifteen years after the events of Suikoden II, the game took place to the north-west of Jowston, in an area called the Grasslands where the tribes of the area have just negotiated a cease-fire with the mercantile nation, the Zexen Confederacy. The Holy Kingdom of Harmonia, meanwhile, is waiting for a truce with the Grasslanders, made in secrecy fifty years perviously, to expire so they can launch an offensive of their own. Relations between the tribes and their Zexen neighbours dissolve and lead to war until the Harmonian invasion. However, unknown to everyone, these events have been set in motion by someone else with a far darker purpose than territorial expansion.

The game followed the trials of several main characters in what was dubbed the Trinity Sight System. Each main character had a series of chapters, all of which ran concurrently with the other characters, allowing the player to gain, for the first time, a full view into the motivations of every faction in the game. From the Zexen Knight, Chris Lightfellow, to the Grasslander youth, Hugo, and the Harmonian mercenary, Geddoe, each character brings their own culture and personal beliefs to the story.

Set a staggering 150 years before Suikoden I, the game takes place in the ocean far south of the Scarlet Moon Empire, in the selection of island communities known as the Island Nations. The game told the story of Lazlo, a recent graduate of the Gaien Marine Knights Academy on the nation's colony of Razril. Soon caught, against his control, in events surrounding the dangerous Rune of Punishment, one of the 27 True Runes, Lazlo is wrongfully accused of murder and exiled.

Later events lead Lazlo to the Kingdom of Obel where he works for the king, Lino En Kuldes, at a time when the Island Nations were being attacked by the aggressive Kooluk Empire, which bordered Scarlet Moon. With Kooluk being manipulated by those wishing to gain the Rune of Punishment for their own ends, Lazlo eventually rises to become the leader of a rebel navy. He manages to unite the quarrelling islands and together they eventually defeat the Kooluk and destroy its southern outpost, El-Eal, thus putting a stop to the Empire's plans for southern expansion. Following this victory, the Island Nations Federation is founded, in order to ensure lasting peace and a strong defense against more powerful nations.

Summary:
Quote:
Set three years after the events of Suikoden IV, the game followed Kyril, the son of a Scarlet Moon officer, as he investigated Rune Cannons, the primary naval weapon during Suikoden IV that had since been abandoned due to its terrifying power. This investigation eventually leads Kyril and his party to the Kooluk Empire, under the orders of Island Nations Federation Chairman, Lino En Kuldes. In Kooluk, many plots are brewing involving rebellion, insurrection and expansion. Further complicating things are Scarlet Moon agents, who have their own priorities regarding Kooluk and the Rune Cannons.

The game served mainly as a way of tying up the loose end that was the Kooluk Empire, a nation never mentioned prior to Suikoden IV, despite it's fierce rivalry with Scarlet Moon.

Suikoden TIERKREIS

Release:
  • Nintendo DS: December 18, 2008, Japan; March 17, 2009, North America

Summary:
Quote:
Created as a spin-off of the main series of games, Suikoden Tierkreis was made to explore one of the myriad of worlds that exist in the Suikoden metaverse. Following the game's main theme of "the infinite possibility of future", players must assume the role of an unnamed young male protagonist to gather the combined forces of 108 heroes and defeat a powerful villain known as The One King, leader of The Order of the One True Way, who seeks to control the world by spreading his doctrine that all fate is predetermined and all people have no control of their lives.

The game is set in a world with several diverse nations and tribes and inhabited by a range of creatures including humans, Roar (similar to the Kobolds and Nay-Kobolds of previous games), Porpos-kin (small, penguin like creatures), and Auster (a race of horned giants).

The game opens as the leader of 108 heroes engages the main antagonist known as "The One King" in battle. It is currently unknown whether the defeat shown in the introduction precedes the game or if the game is actually a flashback leading to that scene. The game is set in a parallel world to the main world of the series, which is one of the many worlds in the Suikoden multiverse, known collectively as the Infinity.

The protagonist is an energetic young man from Citro Village who eventually ends up fighting a mysterious organization that preaches a fatalist philosophy in which the future is predetermined.

The concept of the Infinity has been previously explored in other Suikoden games: monsters from another dimension are summoned by Windy and Leknaat in Suikoden I, and by Luc and Sarah in Suikoden III ; Nash Latkje, Humphrey Mintz, and Futch visit The World of Wings and Scales in Suikogaiden II, a parallel world where only dragons exist, while dragons are only able to exist in the main Suikoden world via the Dragon Rune, one of the 27 True Runes; the Fog Ship Guide, who appears in Suikoden IV, hails from another world; and the final battle of Suikoden Tactics takes place in the World of Emptiness, a parallel world from which monsters are summoned. Additionally, it is implied that recurring characters Viki, Yuber, and Pesmerga likely come from parallel worlds.

Genesis of 27 True Runes

In the beginning, there was "darkness."
Then, the "darkness" shed a "tear."
From that "tear," the brothers Sword and Shield were born.
Shield claimed it could defend against any attack.
Sword claimed it could slice through anything.
The brothers began a legendary battle.
At the end, both Sword and Shield shattered.
Sword became the sky, Shield became the earth, and the sparks from the battle became the stars.
As for the jewels, they fell to the ground and became the True Runes--The runes that all other runes were born from.
