Touhou Project: Izayoi Sakuya 03

Easily one of the most enigmatic characters despite appearing in so many games, Izayoi Sakuya is the Chief Maid of Scarlet Devil Mansion who has the power to stop time. Her ability is a handy way of doing large amounts of maid work in a shorter timespan. Because most of the people living or working in the mansion are maids, there are few people with more authority within the mansion than Sakuya.

Cute cosplay by Lenfried! It looks like another photo from Comiket 2010. Then again, I’m not really sure which year this is! Thanks to Yani for sending this in!

Touhou Project: Hakurei Reimu 05

Did you know that two or more "Reimu"s may exist in the Touhou Universe?

Apparently, there are circumstantial evidences suggesting that the Reimu from the PC-98 games may have been the ancestor of the Reimu from the Windows games. Despite Kazami Yuuka and Alice Margatroid “knowing” Reimu, they seem to compare instead of recalling a memory. Also, a different looking Reimu engaged Yakumo Yukari in battle after setting up the border in the Touhou Kinema-Kan animations, along with the fact that Reimu’s family may have also known Yukari for a long time.

It’s unlikely, but a trivia like this is always fun to read! I don’t know Touhou enough to know where this outfit is from, and are those other Touhou characters in the background? Thanks again to 4chanatic for sending this in!

Touhou Project: Yamaxanadu Shikieiki

One of the Yama who judge the dead, Shikieiki currently resides in Hell to sentence those who’ve traversed Higan and the Sanzu no Kawa. She is well known in Gensokyo for lecturing anyone and everyone about their faults, but it is unknown whether she genuinely wants others to change for the better or she simply has a habit of lecturing.

Beautiful cosplay from Winter Comiket 2010! I had a hard time trying to figure out which character she was, but the red and white ribbons gave quite a telling clue. Thanks to James for suggesting this!

Touhou Project: Kirisame Marisa

A highly self-confident person, Kirisame Marisa is a human magician who likes to stick her nose into other people’s business out of curiosity. As a minion of Mima, Marisa was ordered to prevent Reimu from reaching her boss, but failed miserably. She has been working hard since then to try and catch up to Reimu with her secret training and magic development.

Beautiful cosplay from Winter Comiket 2010! I love the laces on her hat, and the ribbon on her braid adds a nice touch! Thanks to Abel for sending this!

Touhou Project: Flandre Scarlet

Younger sister of Mistress Remilia Scarlet, Flandre is the “dirty little secret” of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. She has incredible destructive powers but she has little to no self-control due to her unstable personality. Thus, Remilia has ordered her never to step out of the mansion and she has had no substantive contact with any humans other than Izayoi Sakuya for nearly 500 years.

So cute! And so scary at the same time. I love how she’s got the personality down with her awesome cosplay. Thanks again to Ophelia for the photo!

Touhou Project: Remilia Scarlet

Owner and head of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, Remilia is well known as the “Scarlet Devil” all throughout Gensokyo. She is the mistress of Izayoi Sakuya and Hong Meiling and the older sister and guardian of Flandre Scarlet. Like all vampires, she is photosensitive and therefore prefers to only to emerge at night.

So cute! And so fierce too! Really love the attitude she’s projecting in this photo. Thanks again to Wendy for sending this in!

Touhou Project: Hakurei Reimu 04

One of the main characters of Touhou Project, Hakurei Reimu is easygoing, curious, and somewhat dutiful. She is the Shrine Maiden of Hakurei Shrine which probably explains why is is sympathetic towards many people. Reimu also tends to be overly optimistic, and her shrine has become a popular hangout for some of Gensokyo’s more interesting females.

Cute cosplayer! Certainly a rival for the previously featured Reimus. Thanks to Zero Haven for sending this!

Touhou Project: Cirno 02

Often called "⑨" (pronounced "nineball"), Cirno is a childlike ice fairy which ZUN labeled in the manual of Phantasmagoria of Flower View "⑨" as a symbol of "Baka" (Stupid). Arguably, she is not very bright due to her inexperience and age. She is considered to be the strongest of her kind, but is not a difficult opponent to defeat.

So cute! It looks like she might freeze something… or someone at any moment! Thanks to Ophelia for sending this in!
