Bleach: Szayelaporro Grantz

The 8th or Octavo Espada, Szayelaporro represents the “madness” aspect of death. He is an intellectual and a scientist, thinking highly of himself and has the tendency to follow his plans to the finest detail. Like Kurotsuchi Mayuri, he is quite sadistic and views others as nothing more than research material. Szayelaporro also looks down upon non-Hollows and hopes that Aizen Sosuke would kill them all.

An impressive cosplay of one of the creepiest characters in Bleach. I had to adjust the photo a little because the one I received was in poor quality. I hope the cosplayer doesn’t mind! Thanks to Shiney for sending this in!

Bleach: Shattered Blade: Arturo Plateado

Over one thousand years before the current Bleach storyline, Arturo Plateado was a self-made and very powerful Arrancar who wanted to destroy the Shinigami. He is so old that only Yamamoto-Genryuusai Shigekuni and Shihoin Yoruichi recognize and know him. He was recorded to have single-handedly decimated almost half of the shinigami military forces in his initial attack.

Impressive! I didn’t know there were characters that were exclusive to the game. It makes me want to play this even more! Thanks again to Loki for sending this!

Bleach: Soi Fon 04

Soi Fon’s Zanpakuto is the Suzumebachi which, once released, shrinks from a full-sized katana into a stinger worn on her middle finger. The Suzumebachi’s bankai “Jakuho Raikoben” means “Hornet Whip of the Thunder Immortal”, and is composed of a greatly enlarged version of the shikai that encases the entirety of Soi Fon’s arm. Soi Fon mentioned that her bankai is bulky and incapable of concealing, thus unsuited for use in stealth missions.

Such an awesome cosplay of one of my favorite characters from Bleach! I really love her attitude and the pose is perfect too! Thanks to Wayne for sending this!

Bleach: Tier Halibel 02

The Tercera Espada who is the only current female member, Tier Halibel represents the “sacrifice” aspect of death. Her hollow hole is located inside her uterus while her hollow mask covers the lower portion of her face, extending down to either side of her chest. Unlike the majority of her fellow Espadas, Halibel prefers not to engage in combat and refuses to fight unless she or her Fracciónes are challenged or ordered by her superiors.

Bleach: Ulquiorra Schiffer 04

Ulquiorra Schiffer kidnapped Inoue Orihime for Aizen Sosuke, serving as her jailer and forcing her to remain alive for Aizen’s use. During his first battle with Kurosaki Ichigo in Hueco Mundo, Ulquiorra easily withstood and defeated his hollow form. However, after Ulquiorra’s imprisonment in Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez’s Caja de Negacion, their battle ended with his defeat and eminent death.

Bleach: Yamamoto-Genryuusai Shigekuni

The captain of the 1st Division and the Leader of Gotei 13, Yamamoto believes that laws must be upheld for the benefit of the community and despises anyone who breaks them. He founded the Gotei 13 approximately 1000 years before the Bleach storyline began, where he personally instructed Kyoraku Shunsui and Ukitake Jushiro as if they were his own sons. He claims that no Soul Reaper stronger than himself had been born in one thousand years.

I can’t believe my eyes. That really is the Commander-in-Chief. I hope someone recognizes this photo so I can credit the cosplayer properly! Thanks to Kyle for sending this in!

Bleach: Kurosaki Ichigo 03

While training under Urahara Kisuke to become a Soul Reaper with his own powers, Kurosaki Ichigo partially becomes a hollow, the same evil spirit that he is fighting to protect people from. This leaves him with an insane inner hollow spirit that tries to take control of his body to fight. Within his inner world, the hollow mirrors Ichigo’s appearance, usually with pale white skin and hair, revealing black eyes with golden pupils.

Bleach: Shiba Kukaku 02

It is only in the anime that Shiba Kukaku's missing right arm is replaced with a prosthetic piece. She has some kind of relationship with the Urahara Shop, knowing Shihoin Yoruichi and claiming to have worked with Urahara Kisuke in the past. Kukaku is able to perform high level kido spells and carries a kodachi tied around the remaining portion of her right arm.

Bleach: Nnoitora Gilga

The Quinto Espada and representation of death’s aspect “despair”, Nnoitora Gilga was once the Octavo Espada when Neliel Tu Oderschvank was the Tercera. The large eye-patch covers most of the left side of his face as well as the remnants of his Hollow mask and his Hollow hole. He has the self-proclaimed strongest hierro of any Espada, enabling him to block attacks, even from blade wielding opponents, by skin alone.

Bleach: Shihoin Yoruichi 03

A century before the start of the series, Shihoin Yoruichi was one of the most intimidating and well-respected person in Soul Society. She was the squad captain of the 2nd Division, the leader of the Secret Mobile Corps, and the head of a high ranking noble house. Yoruichi has never been seen weilding a zanpakuto, although a kodachi-like blade was shown in some of the flashbacks.

Bleach: Kurotsuchi Mayuri

The Captain of the 12th Division and President of the Shinigami Reseach Institute, Kurotsuchi Mayuri personifies the archetype of the mad scientist, viewing everyone as objects to be dissected in the lab. He takes great pride in his creations, such as his “daughter” Nemu, and condemns the concept of perfection. Mayuri has little regard for life or allegiances, going so far as turning his own subordinates as human bombs.

Bleach: Kyoraku Shunsui 02

Captain of the 8th Division, Kyoraku Shunsui is a peace-loving man who will always try to find a non-violent solution. He does not, however, insult his opponent by refusing an invitation to fight. He and Ukitake Jushiro are two of the oldest captains in Gotei 13 and were both trained under General Yamamoto.

Bleach: Soi Fon 03

Captain of the 2nd Division and current Commander in Chief of the Secret Mobile Corps known as Onmitsukido, Soi Fon is a hard worker who believes strongly in following orders. She applies similar battle techniques to her master, Shihoin Yoruichi, engaging her opponents by using hand-to-hand combat with Shunko abilities. After asking Yoruichi why she did not take her when she left Soul Society, Yoruichi’s answer was not heard, but the two made amends.

Bleach: Kuchiki Rukia 05

When Rukia was forced to give her Soul Reaper abilities to Ichigo in order to save his family, she was left too weak to return to Soul Society. As such, she remained in the human world under Ichigo’s care until Byakuya and Renji were sent to find her. Unfortunately, Rukia was sentenced to death because of her actions and it’s up to Ichigo to save her.

Bleach: Tousen Kaname

Former captain of the 9th Division, Tousen Kaname has been blind since birth but is capable of using his spiritual sense to “see”. He is a pacifist, but will not hesitate to take arms in order to preserve justice. He felt that it was necessary for him to join Aizen Sosuke because he felt a sense of injustice in Soul Society’s refusal to administer capital punishment to his friend’s murderer.
