Final Fantasy VII: Tifa Lockhart 05

In a flashback detailing the events prior to the game, Tifa and Cloud had decided to follow a path to a mountain near her hometown, Nilbelheim when they were still children. Although they both thought it would be a fun adventure at the time, things didn’t turn out so well when both of them became injured. Tifa ended up in a coma for a week and her father blamed Cloud for her injuries.

That’s kind of sad. I didn’t really play this game so I didn’t know they had such a sad past together.

Anyway! You can probably recognize this cosplayer! She’s Rachel, who was featured about a month ago for her cosplay of Rinoa Heartily from Kingdom Hearts III! Thanks again for allowing me to post this and we definitely look forward to more cosplays from you!

Final Fantasy VII: Tifa Lockhart 04

Tifa Lockhart’s character was developed to use the “Martial Artist” character class that appeared in previous games in the Final Fantasy series. Nomura Tetsuya described Tifa to have several dimensions, calling her “like a mother, a sweetheart, and a close ally in battle” and “remarkably strong, not only emotionally, but physically as well”.

Nomura initially had difficulty deciding whether to give her a mini-skirt or long pants, so he passed his sketches around Square’s offices and the majority approved of the mini-skirt design.

Does this mean most of the people who work in Square are guys? Then again, I like the mini-skirt design too and I’m a girl! Hee!

Final Fantasy VII: Vincent Valentine 02

Thirty years before the beginning of Final Fantasy VII, Vincent was a member of the Shin-Ra Electric Power Company's Administrative Research Division; a fancy title for the company’s Black Ops unit more commonly known as the Turks. At the age of 27, he was assigned to supervise the Jenova Project in a town called Nibelheim, and fell in love with one of the supporting scientists, Lucrecia Crescent. Despite their love for each other, Lucrecia harbored a secret past related to the death of Vincent’s father and therefore decided to break off the relationship, leaving Vincent for another scientist named Hojo.

Impressive cosplay of a much younger Vincent! Although I didn’t think he was actually so old in the game. Thanks to Feanne for sharing this!

Final Fantasy VII: Tifa Lockhart 03

From the book “Final Fantasy VII Ultimania Ω" by Studio BentStuff, we get a glimpse of one of Tifa alternate costumes. The developers of Final Fantasy VII chose to keep her mini-skirt as a staple of her design, much to the delight of fan boys everywhere.

I don’t know much about the game itself, but I do know Aira makes a fabulous Tifa. Thanks to Lilica for sending this!
