Banyak Perwira NAZI Masuk Islam

Dalam Perang Dunia II, Jerman berperang melawan negara-negara yang selama ini kita kenal sebagai negara penjajah bangsa-bangsa Muslim seperti Inggris, Prancis, Rusia dan Belanda. Hal inilah yang menyebabkan jutaan orang Islam di seluruh dunia mendukung Hitler dan mendaftarkan diri sebagai sukarelawan di ketentaraannya. Sebagian terbesar dari mereka adalah orang-orang Bosnia, Albania, Chechnya, Tatar, dan bangsa-bangsa lainnya yang berada di bawah tirani komunis Soviet. Jangan lupakan pula unit-unit yang terdiri dari para anggota perlawanan Arab (Freies Arabien).

Muhammad Amin al-Husseini, Mufti Besar al-Quds (Jerusalem), memimpin perlawanan Palestina melawan Yahudi dan Inggris dari pembuangannya di Berlin, dan mantan Perdana Menteri Irak Rashid Ali al-Gailani juga memimpin perlawanan bangsanya dalam melawan imperialisme Inggris dari ibukota Jerman tersebut. Terdapat pula grup-grup pelopor dari jurnalis Arab, penulis, dan aktivis yang berjuang demi kemerdekaan negara mereka masing-masing dari pengasingan mereka di Jerman.

Para pendukung Arab ini di antaranya adalah Dr. Fritz Grobba, seorang veteran di Kementerian Luar Negeri dari tahun 1924 yang kemudian bertugas sebagai Duta Besar Jerman di Irak dan Arab Saudi. Dia merupakan seorang pengagum kebudayaan Islam yang dijuluki “Lawrence of Arabia-nya Jerman” dan menjadi teman dekat dari al-Husseini. Setelah Perang Dunia II usai, Grobba memeluk agama Islam dan menjadi penghubung politik antara pemimpin Mesir Gamal Abdel Nasser dengan pihak Jerman dan Soviet (Kevin Coogan, Dreamer of the Day: Francis Parker Yockey and the Postwar Fascist International, New York: Autonomedia, 1999, halaman 383). 

Setelah Perang Dunia II berakhir, banyak para petinggi Nazi dan mantan perwira SS yang pindah ke negara-negara Arab, menjadi penganut agama Islam, dan mempunyai jabatan militer atau birokratis di negara baru mereka, terutama di Mesir dan Suriah (cf., Jean and Michel Angebert, The Occult and the Third Reich, New York: Macmillan.)
